Camping at Blue Jay Lake

Blue Jay Lake Farm has a lakeside camping area that is for residents, WWOOFers and community events – we are not able to offer commercial camping to visitors.

The camping area is in the lakeside clearing of the old Tate family homestead from the early 1900s. There are cleared forest tenting sites amongst a cedar grove and a large fire pit for use in season (Cortes Island has a campfire ban in the height of the summer heat).  The cleared camping area also includes covered kitchen amenities with a double sink (cold water), plenty of counter space, a propane stove and oven. There are several long tables and benches available for groups. A washroom/change room with running water and composting toilets is steps away from the tenting sites.

Our camping area is on the shores of Blue Jay Lake which is great for swimming in the summer (or year round for the brave). The main swimming area has a floating dock and a rope swing as well as a kayak and canoe available to campers and residents.
